  2. May 3, 2011 Proclaimed David McClaskey Day

    Dennis R. Phillips, Mayor of Kingsport, Tennessee, recently proclaimed that May 3, 2011 be recognized as David McClaskey day.   David was honored because of his lifetime of achievement as a management consultant which has included receiving the 2010 Ned R. McWherter Leadership Award from the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence, assisting seven companies to win eight Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Awards,  as well as co-founding and leading the Pal’s Business Excellence Institute.  David, who has been a career long resident of Northeast Tennessee, is a recognized national expert in the field of quality management and performance excellence.


  3. Thom Crosby Shares Insight on Baldrige Implementation

    During the Q&A session of the Achieving World-Class Results public training class in February of 2011, Thom Crosby, CEO, Pal’s Sudden Service,  shares Pal’s experience of utilizing Performance Excellence and the Baldrige criteria to drive improvement in business.   In this video Thom tells about how Pal’s became aware of this management assessment tool,  organizational challenges with implementation, overcoming organizational challenges, the value of the Baldrige criteria to Pal’s,  and how Performance Excellence is used today at Pal’s.  This Q&A session is one of the highlight features of the Achieving World-Class Results training class at Pal’s Business Excellence Institute.


  4. Pal’s BEI Featured in Nation’s Restaurant News

    Pal’s Business Excellence Institute was pleased to be featured in the April 4, 2011 Nation’s Restaurant News article entitled Model of Efficiency.  The article highlights how Pal’s BEI training and consulting impacted K&N Management - a 2010 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award winner – the only other food service company to win.   The article reveals how K&N’s average unit sales were around $3 million per store when they first visited Pal’s BEI and how they are at $7.5 million per unit today.   You can access the full article by clicking on this link.  Ken Schiller, Co-Owner of K&N Management, and T.J.
